Canada Immigration 67 Points Calculator 2021
Canada is the friendliest country and has always welcomed immigrants that can support their economy. The right candidate with the right skills and experience are required in Maple country. This is why the federal government of Canada has introduced economic immigration programs for inviting the skilled and qualified workers to Canada. The Express Entry program provides an immigration pathway for the immigrants under three categories:
1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
2. Federal Skilled Trades Program
3. Canadian Experience Class
Candidates who have applied under the above-mentioned categories have their profiles managed by the Express Entry program. All the profiles in these categories are then submitted into the express entry pool where they are ranked according to their immigration score.
Though this is after the process and the first candidate needs to check whether they meet the basic Canada PR eligibility criteria under Express Entry or not. For eligibility to become a permanent resident in Canada under Express Entry, you need to score at least 67 Canada Immigration points. If you are able to score the desired points, you will be able to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
This page will help you in knowing about the 67 Points Calculator 2021 and how to achieve the desired score.
But first, let us know about Canada Immigration 67 points Calculator
For immigrating to Canada, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) uses a 67 points calculator to know the basic details and where the candidate stands in the Canada PR process. Under the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), the 67 points are the minimum qualification scores to become eligible for applying under Express Entry program. The total points out of which candidates get a score is 100. This means a candidate must score at least 67 points out of 100 to be able to apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
It is no doubt that thousands of applicants apply for the express entry program but only a few are eligible to apply. This 67 points criteria help in deciding who is actually eligible and if by chance, the candidate is not able to score the desired score they can always try improving their score by:
1. Improve language skills
2. Completing another degree, diploma, or certificate
3. A job offer letter from Canada
To make the process of getting Canada Permanent Residency easier under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, 67 Immigration points criteria is used so that only those candidates who are able to prove their efficiency and eligibility are able to apply for Canada PR.
There are six factors under FSWP that are specified by Canadian Immigration authorities. On this basis, points are allotted and application is processed. Let us look into the different categories and how many points are awarded in each category.
1. Language Proficiency (maximum 28 points)
When going abroad, be it Canada or any other country, it is important to know the language of that country for better understanding and hassle-free communication as well as stay. Canada has a majority of people speaking English, French or both. Thus, it is important to be able to communicate in either of these languages. Immigrants planning to settle in Canada must be efficient in one of these languages. They must be able to speak, listen, write and read the language.
That is why language proficiency tests are important to prove their language knowledge. These points are awarded to the candidates based on the factors: Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing.
A candidate must score at least a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in all sections of the language testing criteria. There are certified tests conducted to test the language skills of the candidates. The maximum score you can get is 28 points for language proficiency.

2. Education (maximum 25 points)
Education plays a key role in immigrating to Canada. The more educational degrees you have, the better your chances are of scoring higher points. You can achieve points with every certificate, degree, higher education or diploma you have. Also, if the education is done from the school/college/university in Canada, you are eligible to get additional points.
However, if the education is taken from the university or schools outside of Canada, the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is necessary. It is to prove that foreign education is equal to the Canadian certificate, diploma or degree from a Canadian high school or post-secondary school. You need to submit original documents for everything you have learned from an overseas institution to achieve the minimum Express Entry points or submit a report for Educational Credential Assessment for qualification from a university in Canada. Those who have PhD or Masters Degrees are eligible for higher points. A positive educational credential report is required to move forward in the process.
3. Work Experience (15 points)
Work Experience is known to be a very important factor in the FSW program. It would be easier to achieve permanent residence if you have spent up to 30 hours a week for up to 12 months in a full-time position related to your skills. Candidates are awarded points for the years they have spent doing full-time paid work under National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill type 0, A or B. If you have worked while studying, you can achieve more points. With over 6 years of experience, you can achieve a maximum of 15 points.
How to find your NOC?
National Occupation Classification (NOC) is the categorization of all the occupations in the Canadian labour market and it is used to classify all the jobs in the Canadian economy. It mentions all the details related to occupation- duties, roles and responsibilities, talents and work settings for different jobs etc.
It is necessary that your occupation must be listed in the NOC list to become eligible for applying for Canada PR. The candidate will be required to identify their NOC code and submit for each job they need to include in their express entry profile.
4. Age (maximum 12 points)
Age is another important factor for applying for the Canadian Permanent Residence. The earlier you apply the better are your chances of coming closer to your Canadian Immigration dream. The Canadian government does not want people migrating to their country to be a burden instead of an asset and thus, the candidates after the age of 46 years get 0 points. The applicant age 18 and above are eligible to apply for Canada PR and can get points according to the Canadian age table but the highest 12 points can be scored when you apply in the age bracket of 18 to 35 years.
5. Arranged employment (maximum 10 points)
If you want to score points under this section, you should have a job offer for a minimum of 1-year full time from a company based in Canada. The candidate must get this offer before applying to come to Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker.
A job offer will be considered valid only if:
● It is continuous, paid, full-time work (minimum of 30 hours per week)
● The occupation is categorized under NOC skill level 0, A or B
Also, the Canadian government must be convinced of:
● That the candidate will be able to do the job offered
● That the candidate must be able to become licensed or certified when in Canada
There are different situations/scenarios in which a candidate needs to fall for attaining 10 additional points. Connect with the visa and immigration experts today to know what are these scenarios and do you fall in any of them or not?
6. Adaptability (10 points)
Along with the above-mentioned points, you can also score points if your partner/common-law partner is accompanying you to Canada along with other factors. This means that their education, qualifications and work experience can help you in attaining 10 additional points.
These points are given for:
● Candidate’s spouse or common-law partner’s language level: Minimum CLB level 4 or higher in all sections of the language test (Writing, Listening, Reading, and Writing)
● Candidate’s past studies: Completed minimum of 2 years of full-time study at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada
